This season, Ranch baseball ended with a record of 8 wins and 12 losses. As they begin to reflect, move forward, and start looking forward to next season, they must start to think of ways to improve for next year.

   “Next season, myself and the rest of the team can work on our fielding some more. It was pretty clean for the most part, but it still wasn’t up to our expectations,” said Zack Medina, junior.

   This past season, the team made it to playoffs, and the first game they played was on Saturday, May 12 against Legacy. The game was tied 2-2 until the 6th inning when Legacy scored 6 more times, leaving the final score at 8-2 Legacy.

   “What lost us the game was our hitting. We only had 4 collective hits as a team which doesn’t produce runs. One thing we could’ve done to change the outcome was to not get deep into counts. If we hit the pitches early in the count there would be a higher chance of us getting a hit. The other pitcher was throwing strikes, so we just needed to hit them,” said Sean Arnold, senior.

   Even though their season ended, they are still looking forward and getting ready for next season.

   “I am really excited about next season. I think we need to practice more simple defense like ground balls and fly balls, and that should help us a lot next season,” said Nick Humphrey, junior.

   With seniors leaving and changes being made, the baseball team will need to continue to work hard to be successful in the future.

  Sean Arnold, senior, said, “My hope for next season is that the team finds ways to get wins. Since they are losing a lot of players, including their pitcher, I hope they find someone to step up and lead. Everyone needs to find ways to improve themselves and others. I also hope they can bond because a well-bonded team wins games. I wish Ranch the best of luck for next season.”
