Teen Killed, Several Injured in Rollover Crash Near Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A tragic rollover crash in rural El Paso County claimed the life of a Castle Rock teenager and left several others injured on Saturday morning.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, the crash happened around 11:00 a.m. near the intersection of North Peyton Highway and Pinon Park Road. A Nissan Pathfinder was traveling north when it entered a left-hand curve, skidded off the road, and rolled over.

Troopers confirmed the 16-year-old male driver from Castle Rock was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt and later died from his injuries after being airlifted to a hospital.

Three other teenage passengers were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
