Patients Warned After Financial Fraud Allegations at Rockhill Women’s Center

Patients of Rockhill Women’s Center are being urged to stay vigilant following allegations of financial fraud tied to a former employee, according to the Johnson County District Attorney’s Office.

💳 A Close Call During a Life-Changing Moment

Dingxiang Du, who was preparing to welcome her baby girl two years ago, recalled how a bank alert saved her from potential theft.

“The first one said they had declined a transaction… the other informed me that they thought my bank account might have been compromised,” Du said.

Du acted quickly and didn’t lose money, but she later learned she may have been one of multiple victims of an alleged fraud scheme linked to Wendy Susan Hopkins.

🚨 What Patients Should Do

The DA’s office is advising any patient of Rockhill Women’s Center who experienced financial card fraud between September 2022 and November 2023 to contact their local law enforcement.

Despite being potentially defrauded, Du says she never heard from the clinic:

“I also know it’s not everybody’s fault in the clinic,” she added.
