Drivers in Mid-Missouri, get ready for a week of delays as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) rolls out several road maintenance and construction projects starting Monday, July 7, through July 13. Expect to see striping on interstates, pothole repairs, mowing, and other roadwork, all dependent on unpredictable Midwestern weather.
In Boone County, multiple upgrades are underway. Route WW (Broadway) is receiving pedestrian facility enhancements, which may lead to walkway closures and flagger-controlled, single-lane traffic. Route Y will be resurfaced from U.S. Route 63 to Route J, with a pilot car managing traffic flow. MoDOT urges drivers to check their website for the latest updates, as schedules may shift due to weather.
On U.S. Route 63, narrowed lanes and traffic shifts are in place from Sugar Grove Road to just north of Route AC (Grindstone Parkway). I-70 drivers should prepare for pavement construction between Route B (Paris Road) and U.S. Route 63—part of a long-term project scheduled for completion in 2027. Overnight closures are planned for the eastbound I-70 ramp to U.S. Route 63 from July 8 through the morning of July 12.
In Cooper County, bridge rehabilitation on the Lamine River begins July 7. Crawford County drivers will face lane closures as culverts are replaced between Route 19 and Route T. Cole County continues bridge repairs over Lindon Drive and Stadium Boulevard, reducing U.S. Route 54 to one lane in each direction, with ramp closures extending through October.
Osage County’s pavement resurfacing project runs until May 2026, while Morgan County deals with roundabout construction and flagger-controlled traffic.
MoDOT urges all drivers to stay alert, wear seat belts, put phones down, obey signs, and respect work zones by slowing down and moving over for crews and equipment.
