Kansas City Man Indicted on Drug Trafficking and Firearms Charges

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — A federal grand jury has indicted a Kansas City man on multiple drug trafficking and firearms charges.

According to court documents, 26-year-old Marquis V. Bridgeman of Kansas City, Kansas, faces six counts: two for being a felon in possession of a firearm, one for possession of a machine gun, one for possession with intent to distribute 40 grams or more of fentanyl, one for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and one for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the Kansas Highway Patrol are leading the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Zabel is prosecuting the case.

This indictment falls under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime. The operation brings together resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN).
