Drivers in western Colorado should prepare for delays as a resurfacing project on Colorado Highway 141 near Gateway begins July 7. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), in partnership with Elam Construction, will resurface a 13-mile stretch from Mile Point 107 to 120, with work expected to continue through the end of October.
“This is a scenic and historically significant route,” said Jason Smith, CDOT Regional Transportation Director, recognizing both the cultural and functional value of CO 141.

What drivers can expect:

Work hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Up to 20-minute delays

One-lane, alternating traffic controlled by a pilot car

10-foot vehicle width restriction

Reduced speed limit of 40 MPH

Portable traffic signals will be active 24/7 at bridge repair sites
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution while driving through the work zone.
