Aldie, Virginia — A 54-year-old Northern Virginia real estate agent was found dead inside her home Tuesday, and authorities say her husband was arrested hours later in Pennsylvania after allegedly fleeing the area in a rental car.
Lisa Bradford, a well-known real estate agent with Compass, was found at a home in the 24000 block of Quimby Oaks Place in Aldie, Loudoun County, after deputies responded to the residence around noon.
Her husband, 60-year-old Roger Bradford, was arrested in Pennsylvania and is facing murder and firearm-related charges, officials said.
Deputies Find Realtor Dead at Aldie Home
The investigation began Tuesday when Loudoun County deputies responded to the Aldie residence following a report that led authorities to the home. Inside, deputies found Lisa Bradford dead.
Officials said a handgun was used in the shooting, although investigators were still searching for the weapon as the investigation continued.
Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said Roger Bradford contacted a relative after the homicide and discussed what had happened. That relative then alerted authorities and directed deputies to the residence.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
Husband Arrested After Fleeing to Pennsylvania
Authorities said Roger Bradford left the scene in a rental vehicle following the shooting.
Investigators tracked the vehicle as it traveled north toward Pennsylvania. Hours after the initial response in Virginia, Pennsylvania State Police arrested Bradford in Pennsylvania, officials said.
Bradford was subsequently charged with murder and use of a gun in the commission of a felony. He remained in custody pending extradition to Virginia, where the case is expected to continue through the court system.
The arrest ended the immediate search for the suspect, but investigators still have significant questions to answer about what led to the deadly confrontation.
Lisa Bradford Was a Longtime Real Estate Professional
Bradford was known in Northern Virginia’s real estate community through her work with Compass. According to her professional biography, she graduated from Miami University and had been a licensed real estate agent since 2008.
Her death has brought attention to a woman who had spent years working in the Northern Virginia real estate industry. Authorities have not publicly detailed a possible motive for the shooting, and the investigation remains active.
Sheriff Says Investigation Is Still Developing
Sheriff Chapman said investigators have additional work to complete before the circumstances of the killing are fully established.
Chapman also indicated that both Lisa and Roger Bradford had “some prior criminal history on them,” although officials did not provide additional details about those records.
The sheriff emphasized that investigators were still working to establish what happened before the shooting and what circumstances led to Bradford’s death.
Officials also said the couple has two children attending college and another child attending a local high school. Authorities said the children had been notified about the situation.
The family details have added another painful dimension to the investigation as authorities work to determine exactly what happened inside the Aldie home.

For now, Roger Bradford remains in custody in Pennsylvania while authorities work through the extradition process.
