Cog Railway Worker Critical After Assault; Suspect Out on Bond

(MANITOU SPRINGS, Colo.) — Police have identified the suspect in the assault that left a Pikes Peak Cog Railway employee critically injured on Saturday, Aug. 16, in the railway’s parking lot at 515 Ruxton Avenue.

According to the Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD), the suspect has been identified as Randy Blevins, who allegedly attacked the employee. The victim remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Blevins was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center on Second-Degree Assault charges, but has since been released after posting bond.

MSPD says the case remains an active investigation and urges anyone who witnessed, recorded, or has information about the assault to contact El Paso County Dispatch at (719) 390-5555. Police emphasized that tips should be directed to dispatch rather than through social media to ensure accuracy and timely follow-up.
