2 Motorcyclists Killed Days Apart at Same Colorado Springs Intersection

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Two motorcyclists lost their lives within four days at the same northeast Colorado Springs intersection, according to police.

The first crash happened on the evening of Aug. 9 at Garmish Road and Union Boulevard, when a motorcycle collided with an SUV. Bystanders attempted CPR on the rider, 20-year-old Spencer Lehmkuhl, but he died at the scene.

Just days later, on the afternoon of Aug. 12, police responded to another motorcycle-vehicle collision at the same intersection. The rider, 41-year-old Randy Dibuono, was pronounced dead before first responders arrived.

Investigators said speeding was a factor in both crashes. It is not yet clear whether either rider was wearing a helmet.
