Federal and local authorities displayed the results of a 10-month undercover operation in Aurora that targeted members of the TdA gang, leading to dozens of arrests.
On Monday, the ATF showcased 69 firearms along with drugs seized during the investigation. The operation began after Arapahoe County Sheriff Tyler Brown contacted federal agents about rising crime at the Ivy Crossing Apartments. Undercover officers reportedly bought drugs and guns there, and even discussed a possible murder-for-hire plot with suspects.
In total, 30 people were arrested, many identified as members of the Venezuelan-based TdA gang. The suspects face charges including federal drug trafficking, firearms violations, and murder-for-hire.
“This operation shows the impact true collaboration can have—not just across law enforcement but also in building trust and ensuring residents’ safety,” said Sheriff Brown.
The massive bust involved multiple agencies, including the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office, Aurora Police, City of Aurora, ATF, DEA, Homeland Security Investigations, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, and Joint Task Force Vulcan.
