FORT CARSON, Colo. — Southern Colorado’s Fourth of July festivities kicked off early as thousands of service members, their families, and community members came together for Freedom Fest at Fort Carson on Saturday, June 28.
Held at Iron Horse Park, the annual event offered soldiers a chance to unwind and enjoy quality time with loved ones. The celebration featured a live rock concert, bounce houses, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks display.
Among the local participants was the Kibler Group, a Colorado Springs real estate team dedicated to supporting veterans by helping them find homes and reconnect with the community.
“My way of serving is not in the military — I just wasn’t really designed for that,” said Sarah Sobotka of The Kibler Group. “But I can serve these families by making sure they have a roof over their heads. Seeing all these families and businesses coming together to support the military — that’s how we give back and serve them.”
