COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Business owners near Talamine Court are expressing frustration over an RV that sat parked outside their shops for more than a month, raising serious health and safety concerns.
They say a couple with two children lived inside the RV, setting up lawn chairs, swings, and even a grill outside the vehicle. Several owners claim the family used nearby business dumpsters to dispose of trash and human waste. Some also reported seeing possible drug activity.
“When you call the non-emergency number, they say they’ll send someone out, but most of the time, nobody ever came,” said one business owner. “We filed online reports through the CSPD website and didn’t hear anything back. Nothing was really done.”
A city ordinance passed in 2019 prohibits long-term RV parking in residential zones—and was later expanded to include commercial and industrial areas. According to officials, RVs are only permitted for short-term use, such as loading or unloading.
Police tagged the RV over the weekend, prompting it to move—but only to a nearby street, frustrating business owners who say the problem hasn’t gone away.
City officials encourage residents to report similar situations through the GoCOS app or by filing an abandoned vehicle report online.
