Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner described a new poll showing Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) leading the Democratic field for the 2026 Texas Senate race as “shocking,” especially in light of criticism over a recent video she posted about the Texas floods.
“A shocking poll shows Texas congresswoman Jasmine Crockett is leading in the race for incumbent Republican John Cornyn’s Senate seat. Even bigger news though, the massive backlash over her making the Texas flood disaster all about her,” Faulkner said Thursday on The Faulkner Focus. “Well, it’s not news because she does that with everything.”
Later, Faulkner revisited the topic, calling the poll an “unconscious bestie.”
“Some shock now, Republican Party polling shows Crockett is leading Democrats’ hypothetical 2026 field by 35 points to run for incumbent Republican John Cornyn’s seat,” she reported.
According to polling from the National Republican Senatorial Committee, Crockett holds a commanding 35% among potential Democratic contenders. Trailing her are Rep. Colin Allred at 20%, and Beto O’Rourke and Rep. Joaquin Castro, each with 13%.
Faulkner also focused on a video Crockett posted about the recent floods in Texas — and her hairstyle.
“She said this on social media, blaming the administration for the flooding. And making the issue in Texas all about her,” Faulkner said.
In the clip, Crockett stated, “The sad part is I think that my heart is going to carry a level of weight that will continue to weigh me down as we have to continue to do our best to survive an administration that literally is against us.”
Faulkner criticized Crockett for not mentioning flood victims directly and mocked her Instagram caption that acknowledged viewers’ comments about her bob haircut.
However, in the full video, Crockett did express “heartfelt prayers” for those still missing in the devastating floods, which have claimed more than 100 lives — many of them children. She also criticized cuts made during the Trump administration and called for greater investment in climate change research.
“Don’t look at this and think, oh, it’s Texas and so it’s not my issue,” Crockett said. “I want y’all to understand that anything that happens at any place in this country could easily happen at your front door — from immigration raids to the terrible weather we know we experience, because climate change really is real. It’s unfortunate that we are not investing more to make sure that we can better understand climate change and do the things that we need to do.”
