Truck Driver Pulled Over on I-10 for Watching YouTube Behind the Wheel

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) Highway Patrol pulled over a commercial truck driver on July 4, 2025, for distracted driving and multiple violations on I-10 near Eloy, Arizona.

The AZDPS Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Team clocked the truck at 75 mph before initiating a stop. During the stop, the trooper noticed the driver watching a YouTube video while driving.

Further checks revealed the driver was already under a federal out-of-service order. Troopers immediately placed both the driver and the truck out of service and issued a citation.

AZDPS also reported a separate incident that same day involving another commercial driver caught using a cellphone behind the wheel.

To help prevent distracted driving, AZDPS urges drivers to use hands-free options, rely on smartphone assistants, or activate Do Not Disturb mode while on the road.
