Miami Woman Charged After Men She Met at Strip Club Reportedly Lose Thousands in Jewelry

Miami, Florida — A 21-year-old woman is accused of stealing expensive jewelry and other property from men she allegedly met at a Miami strip club, according to authorities and an arrest report.

Deziree Hood was arrested Tuesday and charged with second-degree grand theft. During her court appearance Wednesday, a judge set her bond at $15,000.

Authorities say Hood allegedly met men at the Booby Trap on the River in Miami before accompanying them to their homes or an Airbnb. Investigators are now connecting her to multiple reported thefts involving jewelry and cash.

Man Reportedly Lost $110,000 in Gold Chains

The first reported incident happened on Aug. 9, when a man was celebrating his birthday with friends at the Booby Trap on the River, according to the arrest report.

Authorities said the man met an unknown woman at the club. The man, the woman and one of his friends later left the establishment and went to an Airbnb, where they continued drinking.

At some point, the victim reportedly placed two gold chains worth approximately $110,000 on a bathroom counter before taking a shower and eventually going to sleep.

According to the report, the victim’s brother later saw the woman leaving the Airbnb. He woke his brother, who went to check the bathroom.

The gold chains were reportedly gone. The victim contacted authorities, and three days later, on Aug. 12, a detective met with him as the investigation continued.

Surveillance Video Becomes Part of Investigation

Investigators eventually identified Hood as a suspect, according to the arrest report. Authorities said fingerprints connected to the investigation were identified as belonging to Hood, who had previously been arrested.

Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage from the Miami strip club. According to the report, the video showed Hood and the victim leaving the club together, adding another piece of evidence to the investigation.

The reported value of the missing gold chains made the case particularly significant, with authorities placing their total value at approximately $110,000.

Another Alleged Theft Reported in September

Investigators also linked Hood to another alleged theft involving men she reportedly met at the same strip club.

In a separate incident in September, a man and his friends were at the Booby Trap when they met Hood and another woman, according to the arrest report.

The group allegedly invited the two women to the man’s home. Authorities said everyone continued drinking at the residence before the victim went to sleep.

When he woke up, Hood and the other woman had reportedly left, and the victim discovered that property was missing from his vehicle.

The man later reported the missing jewelry and money to authorities on Sept. 16. According to the report, the total value of the missing property was approximately $25,400.

Hood Eventually Turned Herself In

The investigation continued for several weeks following the reported thefts. Authorities ultimately took Hood into custody after she turned herself in, according to the report.

She was then taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

Hood now faces a second-degree grand theft charge related to the investigation. The allegations described in the arrest report remain accusations, and a criminal charge does not by itself establish guilt.

The case highlights how investigators used a combination of victim statements, surveillance footage and fingerprint evidence while investigating the reported thefts.

With the alleged losses totaling more than $135,000 across the two incidents, the case is expected to continue through the court process.
