The Fighting Mighty Falcons

The HR girls basketball team is currently one of the best teams in the state, a vote by a statewide panel of sportswriters and broadcasters ranked the HR girls basketball team 3rd in the class 5A conference.

The core of this team is the skill of each player. for example, Blaire Braxton, junior, is a player on this Highlands Ranch team. Blaire said, “I always have a pregame meal and listen to the same music, and I always have my teammates slap me in the face.” Even if this is a strange way of getting pumped for a game, it helps her get an average of 10 points per game.

The HR basketball team is currently 14-4 and still have to play five more games. The best game they played this year was against Legacy HR won the game 77 to 51. Everyone knew the game was over by the third quarter the only thing that mattered was the stats. Blaire lead the team with 18 points and close behind her was Symone Starks and Leilah Vigil with 15 points.

The last five games in the season for the HR girls basketball team are pretty tough like Heritage and Regis. As long as the team wins most of their games then they can go to state and compete for the state championship. Who knows maybe they will go and play the national championship game.
