CSPD: Armed Carjacking Suspect Still at Large After Evading Police Pursuit

COLORADO SPRINGS — Police are searching for a suspect involved in an armed carjacking that occurred early Sunday morning, July 6, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

Officers responded around 2:15 a.m. to the 2700 block of West Colorado Avenue, near South 27th Street. The victim told police that a suspect pointed a gun at him, demanded his vehicle, and ordered him to leave all of his belongings behind. Fortunately, the victim was not injured.

About an hour later, officers spotted the stolen car heading northbound on South 8th Street, near Lower Gold Camp Road. They attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect fled after a short pursuit and has not been found.

CSPD continues to investigate and search for the suspect.
