The 62-year-old driver, also a member of the family, survived and was taken to a hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

The semi-truck driver was not injured.

A witness who stopped at the crash site described the heartbreaking scene.

“I feel bad for the gentleman—he lost his family. As we pulled up to the car, I could see they didn’t survive,” the witness told reporter Talya Cunningham. “The top of the vehicle was sheared off, and it was upside down. He was clearly in shock. We pulled him away from the car so he wouldn’t have to see his loved ones.”
