The Aurora Police Department’s Major Crime Homicide Unit is asking for the public’s help with a 2022 fatal shooting that took place outside a house party in northwest Aurora.
According to police, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 5 a.m. on January 30, 2022, at a residence in the 1500 block of Dallas Street. When they arrived, they found 35-year-old Jose Alberto Bautista-Marquez suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite officers’ life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
In 2023, FOX31 reported that police were searching for a dark gray Mercedes C-Class, believed to have pulled up in front of the house before multiple suspects exited and opened fire on the residence. On Wednesday, Aurora police confirmed the same vehicle is still linked to the crime.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
