Man Arrested After Alleged Robbery and Assault at Colorado Springs Store

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) — A man is behind bars after allegedly robbing a store and assaulting a clerk, then leading police on a brief car chase late Monday night.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, the robbery happened just before 11 p.m. at a business near Fountain Boulevard and Chelton Road. The suspect, identified as Adrian Archibeque, is accused of attacking the store clerk and stealing merchandise before fleeing the scene.

A caller gave officers a description of the suspect’s vehicle, which police were able to locate shortly after the incident. When officers approached, Archibeque allegedly tried to flee, prompting a pursuit.

“After a brief pursuit, officers were able to conduct a forced stop method, which disabled the suspect vehicle. The suspect then gave up and was taken into custody by officers without incident,” a CSPD lieutenant stated.

Officers reportedly recovered the stolen items inside the car.

Archibeque now faces robbery and eluding charges. Police have not yet disclosed the name of the business or the severity of the clerk’s injuries.
