While the weather outside is not yet frightful and the fall colors are still delightful, there are still a couple more weeks to experience the endless fall dates possible in Colorado. If you want to keep your ‘boo’ past Halloween, make sure to keep the sugar, spice, and everything nice by going on these autumn outings.
- Look at the changing leaves
If staying inside is not your forte, there are plenty of outdoor dates to go on as well. Even though it has snowed already, the colors of the leaves are still changing. Colorado is known for its endless hikes in the mountains, but you can also simply drive through any of the Colorado national parks such as Roxborough for a small fee of $7 per vehicle. Impress your date with a great fall playlist on the scenic drive too.
2. Bake fall food
Many people think that it is cliche to simply bake things with someone, but it actually can be a very romantic and sweet (literally) activity. Because weather in Colorado can be unpredictable this time of year, making fall food inside is an exciting, festive, and bonding activity to do as a couple. Nisha Chhetry, junior, baked pumpkin cupcakes with her boyfriend, Jack Stilwell. She said, “I’d definitely recommend it because it gets you in the mood for fall and it makes it ten times more fun when you’re doing it together.”
- Get scared
October is known as spooky season, so go on a date to get scared. The Denver Metro area has countless haunted houses during the month. From Botanical Garden’s Haunted Corn Maze, to Thirteenth Floor, there are infinite activities that will let you cozy up to your partner when they get scared. If you do not want to spend money on a haunted house, there are plenty of critically acclaimed horror movies on Netflix to give you a fright.
- Pumpkin patch
What’s says fall more than pumpkins? Pumpkin patches are scattered all around the state but make sure to find one that allows some great photo opportunities as well. Take a hayride around the farm and experience the aesthetics of fall. Flat Acres Farm in Parker offers hayrides, pumpkins and even a petting zoo. Find the perfect pumpkin to carve together and show off your creativity.
- Make DIY couples costumes
One of the most popular events to partake in during October is Halloween festivities. The holiday calls for costumes, and as a couple, there are many costumes designed just for you two. From Angela and Dwight from The Office, to simply ‘partners in crime’, there’s a costume geared towards any couple. Spend quality time with your significant other creating do-it-yourself outfits for Halloween.
