Pueblo County Man Arrested on Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. — A 63-year-old man was arrested Sunday, June 29, after a traffic stop led Pueblo County deputies to discover multiple drugs and paraphernalia in his vehicle.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), a deputy on patrol in the 100 block of North Purcell Boulevard in Pueblo West pulled over a vehicle that had made sudden lane changes without signaling. The driver was identified as Kevin Johnson.

Deputies said they spotted drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle, prompting them to ask Johnson to step out. A K9 unit was brought in for a free air sniff and alerted near the driver’s side door.

A subsequent search uncovered 70.6 grams of methamphetamine, 17.7 grams of heroin, 9.4 grams of fentanyl, cash, and additional drug paraphernalia.

Johnson was arrested and now faces:

  • Three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance

  • Two counts of violating a restraining order

  • One traffic offense

He was booked into the Pueblo County Jail as the investigation continues.
