Police arrested a man Sunday morning in Colorado Springs after an alleged kidnapping involving a stolen vehicle.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a rideshare driver called 911 around 8:42 a.m., reporting that a woman and her dog were taken from his car while stopped at a traffic light at Academy Boulevard and Bijou Street.
After getting a description from the driver, officers discovered that the suspect’s vehicle was stolen and carried a stolen license plate. CSPD located the car traveling southbound on Circle Drive near Hancock Expressway. The suspect abandoned the vehicle, but officers quickly caught and detained him.
Police later found the victim unharmed. The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Vaughn Fejerang, was arrested on charges of domestic violence, kidnapping, and other related offenses.
