Colorado Springs police are looking for two suspects involved in a reported carjacking following a brief pursuit on Sunday.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded around 9:15 a.m. to a reported carjacking in the 1200 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue.
Police located the stolen vehicle and received initial information suggesting a possible kidnapping victim inside. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver sped off, leading police on a short chase. The pursuit was called off after the vehicle began driving the wrong way on I-25.
The suspects later abandoned the car and fled on foot. Officers found the vehicle in the Stratmoor Hills area. CSPD confirmed that the reported kidnapping victim was found unharmed, and initial statements revealed there was no kidnapping.
No weapons were involved, and police have not released suspect descriptions. The investigation remains ongoing.
