KINGFISHER, Okla. (KFOR) — Severe storms on Tuesday night caused significant damage across Kingfisher and parts of Oklahoma City, leaving behind debris and damaged structures.
In Kingfisher, several buildings sustained damage, and storm debris scattered into residential yards. Meanwhile, in Oklahoma City, one couple is cleaning up after a large tree fell near their home.
“When we got married, Bob planted the tree on our first anniversary,” said Nancy Ryan. “Lightning had struck it before, so it was already bent and twisted. It’s 35 years old, and luckily, half of it survived.”
Neighbors joined the Ryans to help clear fallen branches and clean up the area.
“I’ve had it trimmed a couple of times so it wouldn’t fall on the roof or cars,” said Bob Ryan. “This time, I guess Mother Nature decided to trim it for me.”
Fortunately, the tree fell away from their home and vehicles, preventing further damage.
