2 Arrested After Traffic Stop for No License Plate in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – A traffic stop over a missing license plate led to two arrests after deputies discovered both the driver and passenger had active warrants, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the vehicle was pulled over when they noticed it had no license plate. The driver told officers he had bought the car three months earlier but hadn’t registered it.

A records check revealed the driver had a felony warrant out of Denver and a revoked license. Deputies said when he asked the female passenger to retrieve items from the car, they checked her ID and learned she had a misdemeanor warrant.

During a search of her belongings, deputies reported finding narcotics, paraphernalia, and a stolen financial device.

The driver was arrested on his felony warrant, as well as for operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a revoked license, and failing to register a vehicle.

The passenger was arrested on her misdemeanor warrant and additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a financial device, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to deputies.
