Person of Interest Found in Arkansas, Questioned in Lincoln County Death

GREENWOOD, Ark. (KFOR) — A weeklong search for a man tied to a suspicious death in Lincoln County ended with an arrest in Arkansas.

Ryan Archer, wanted on a warrant issued last week, was tracked down in Greenwood with help from the Greenwood Police Department and the Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Smith, according to Lincoln County Sheriff Kevin Garrett.

Archer is considered a person of interest in the death of Yolanda Cullison, whose body was discovered off South 3310 Road in Wellston on Aug. 9. Investigators say Archer and Cullison knew each other.

According to the sheriff’s office, Archer reportedly told a neighbor that someone was dead near his property, prompting the neighbor to alert authorities.

A lead eventually guided law enforcement to Arkansas, where Sheriff Garrett joined OSBI, Greenwood Police, and Sebastian County deputies in the search.

“They located him in a neighborhood. You pull up and you look, someone’s running out the back,” Garrett said. “That was Mr. Archer.”

Archer tried to run but was chased down with the help of police dogs. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

“He likes to run from the police. So he was pretty tired,” Garrett said.

Both Archer and the woman he was staying with in Greenwood were questioned. Archer was released after the interview but remains a person of interest.

Sheriff Garrett said investigators are now waiting for the medical examiner’s autopsy report and reviewing physical evidence.

“We’ve got every cell phone that we need to have in custody, and we’ll be going through search warrants on retaining all that information, those records,” Garrett said.
