Second Motorcyclist in Four Days Killed at Same Colorado Springs Intersection

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A crash at Union Boulevard and Garmish Road on Tuesday claimed the life of a motorcyclist—just four days after another rider was killed at the same intersection.

The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said officers responded shortly before 3:45 p.m. to reports of a collision between a car and a motorcycle at Union and Garmish, just north of Vickers Drive. Responding officers found the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

On Saturday, Aug. 9, another motorcyclist died at the same location after colliding with an SUV.

The Major Crash Team is investigating both incidents. CSPD has not confirmed whether charges will be filed in either case.

Original Story: Union Boulevard Closed in Both Directions After Crash
CSPD reported the crash just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, and said the intersection of North Union Boulevard and Garmish Road was shut down.

Union Boulevard remained closed in both directions between Vickers Drive and Keystone Circle, with police urging drivers to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
