Man Killed in Constitution Avenue Crash Identified as 64-Year-Old Peter Sanchez

The man who died following a crash last month on Constitution Avenue in Colorado Springs has been identified as 64-year-old Peter “Pedro” Sanchez, according to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on July 3 at the intersection of Constitution Avenue and Tutt Boulevard in the Cimarron Hills area.

Police said Sanchez was driving a Nissan eastbound on Constitution and attempting to turn left onto Tutt Boulevard when his vehicle was struck by a westbound Toyota. The impact caused Sanchez’s car to collide with a third vehicle.

Sanchez was hospitalized after the crash and died from his injuries on July 18.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, this marks the city’s 30th traffic fatality of the year. Over the past 12 months, 49 people have died in traffic-related incidents in Colorado Springs.
