Suspect arrested in Cimarron Hills stabbing incident

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that left one person injured in the Cimarron Hills neighborhood of El Paso County.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stabbing around 8:45 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1, in the parking lot of a business located at 6400 Omaha Boulevard, near Powers Boulevard.

Deputies and investigators quickly arrived at the scene, where they found the victim. First responders provided immediate medical care before transporting the individual to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After collecting evidence and conducting interviews at several locations, detectives identified Adrian Espinoza as the suspect. He was arrested on charges of First-Degree Assault and Aggravated Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim.

Sheriff Joseph Roybal praised his team for their swift and professional response, saying, “Their quick actions led to the safe arrest of a dangerous suspect and helped bring justice to the victim. This is a testament to the unwavering dedication of the men and women of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.”

Espinoza was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Saturday, Aug. 2. His bond was set at $25,000.
