The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred on July 28 as 31-year-old Ian Q. Martinez.
According to officials, Martinez was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 600 block of East Arroyo Avenue shortly after 9 a.m. He was rushed to a local hospital but later died from his injuries. The coroner confirmed the identity in an announcement posted on X.
Pueblo police responded to a report of a shooting and discovered Martinez lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds.
“The investigation is ongoing with no determination of charges at the time of the release,” the department said in a statement.

This marks the seventh homicide in Pueblo so far in 2025. Last year, the city reported 20 homicides—down 28% from 2023, which saw 28 killings.
