David Feil, a former Douglas County School District teacher, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and is now scheduled for arraignment on September 12.
Feil was arrested in May by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit on allegations involving sexual misconduct with multiple students. He had been with the district since 2014, most recently teaching at Roxborough Intermediate School in Littleton.
He faces two counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. The allegations include sending inappropriate messages via social media, discussing explicit topics in class, and engaging in physical contact with students.
At a hearing on July 31, Judge Lawrence Bowling ordered Feil to have all electronic devices monitored and barred him from having any contact with minors. Feil is currently out of custody as he awaits his court date.
