PUEBLO, Colo. — The Pueblo community is grieving the sudden passing of Deputy Fire Chief Keith Novak, a respected leader with over three decades of dedicated service.
The Pueblo International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 3 announced Tuesday morning, July 29, that Deputy Chief Novak passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27.
Novak had served the Pueblo Fire Department for 30 years and was promoted to second-in-command by Fire Chief Barb Huber in 2022. He spent 26 of those years as a proud member of IAFF Local 3.
In a heartfelt statement, IAFF Local 3 described Novak as:
“A respected leader, colleague, and public servant. His loss is deeply felt throughout our department and the broader Pueblo community.”
The union extended condolences to Novak’s family, friends, and loved ones, asking for privacy as they grieve.
