EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — A small grass fire broke out in Black Forest on Monday, July 28, around 3:30 p.m., after sparks from a power line ignited dry vegetation, according to Black Forest Fire and Rescue.
Crews from both Black Forest and Falcon Fire Departments quickly responded to the scene near Brule Road and Woodmen Road. The fire burned less than an acre but spread to nearby pine trees and eventually reached RVs and trailers.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames swiftly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
