GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – Eleven people have been indicted in connection to a Colorado drug ring following a months-long investigation, according to Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser.
The investigation began in August when an undercover detective arranged to “buy” approximately 86 grams of cocaine from one of the suspects, Julio Guttierrez. Over the next several months, detectives continued to interact with various members of the group, tracking illegal drug activity from August through May.
Law enforcement ultimately recovered more than nine kilograms of cocaine. All eleven individuals now face class two drug felony charges, among other offenses. Authorities have not disclosed the exact locations where the drug ring was operating.
