CSPD: Person run over in suspected road rage hit-and-run

COLORADO SPRINGS — Police say a person was run over by a car following a suspected road rage incident, and the driver involved is still at large as of 12:07 p.m.

According to a Colorado Springs Police Department sergeant at the scene, the incident happened after the victim got out of their vehicle and was then struck by another car.

It occurred near the intersection of Union Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, CSPD confirmed.

While early details suggest the incident was sparked by road rage, police say the investigation is still ongoing.

Security camera footage obtained by KRDO13 from a nearby resident shows the moment it happened, just before 11:30 a.m.

An esthetician student at the nearby Beautiful You Skincare Academy, who asked to remain anonymous, said she witnessed the aftermath during an appointment.

“I was doing a facial, and since we have those open windows, I saw a lady running. So I looked out the window and saw them run to a man lying on the ground. He obviously looked really injured,” she said.

Now, she’s hoping for the best.

“I just really hope the man is okay. That’s not a way to handle anything—hitting someone like that,” she added.
