On Wednesday, July 23, Colorado Springs Police say a man found unresponsive in a car became combative when officers asked him to get out, striking an officer during the encounter.
Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2500 block of Weston Road, near Hancock Expressway and South Circle Drive. They found a man inside a vehicle with drug paraphernalia in plain view. When officers asked the man—later identified as Enrique Archuleta—to step out, he reportedly resisted.
During the struggle, Archuleta allegedly struck an officer in the face, causing injury. He was taken into custody, evaluated medically, and later arrested on charges including drug distribution and assaulting a peace officer.
