ICE agents have arrested Federico Fong-Nunez, a 52-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico with a staggering 21 prior criminal convictions in Boulder, Colorado, including burglary, aggravated assault, and felony menacing.
The arrest was part of a broader operation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which also led to the capture of other undocumented immigrants with serious criminal histories.
Tricia McLaughlin, a DHS spokesperson, credited the crackdown to leadership under President Trump and Secretary Noem, saying ICE has been empowered to go after “the worst of the worst.” She noted a staggering 830% increase in assaults on law enforcement, yet praised agents for continuing to take violent criminals and drug offenders off the streets.
“We will not allow sanctuary politicians, activist hacks, or rioters to stand in our way of protecting the American people. Our message is clear: criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the United States.”
Other arrests included:
-
Luis Alberto Leonardo Cortes-Rivera, 34, of Mexico — arrested in Los Angeles, a sanctuary city. His record includes nine convictions for grand theft, burglary, and vehicle tampering.
-
Rureiro Falkao, 46, of Honduras — arrested in Texas for a prior conviction of meth possession.
-
Jhon Jervis Chavez-De La Rosa, 21 — also in Texas, convicted of assault causing bodily injury.
-
Olinda Micaela Gonzalez-Ortiz, 21, of Guatemala — arrested in Maryland for a hit-and-run conviction.
ICE officials say these arrests highlight the dangers of sanctuary policies and underscore their commitment to removing criminal illegal immigrants from American communities.
