Getting a good, soaking rain has been tough for many areas lately — and it’s getting old just talking about it.
A widespread rain would finally put an end to the dry stretch. The driest areas stretch from Topeka, Kansas, to west of Marshall, Missouri, particularly south of I-70 through Kansas City.
Today brought some scattered thunderstorms, mostly along and south of I-70. A few of the drier spots managed to get about 0.25″ to 0.50″ of rain.
Last night, Grandview — one of the drier areas — saw a quick burst of 2″ to 3″ of rain in just one hour, prompting a flash flood warning. It was a case of too much rain, too fast.
What we really need is a slow, steady, widespread rain — and there are 1 to 2 chances for that over the next 7 days.
You can find more details on the upcoming rain chances, the week ahead, and a peek beyond the 7-day forecast in the 4-minute video below.
Wishing you a great week ahead — and stay healthy.
