The annual Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim California kicked off April 16th with a bang and a blast in a galaxy far far away. The first day of the convention released a trailer for one of largest pop culture phenomenons of all time, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. It’s really difficult to top the excitement of the biggest movie of 2015, but the next day of the convention, Lucasfilm released a trailer for the biggest video game of 2015. Star Wars Battlefront, a reboot for the most popular Star Wars video game franchise of all time, is the most looked forward to game of the next year.

The much awaited trailer for Star Wars Battlefront showed viewers exciting scenes with cameos from Star Wars favorites including Darth Vader, and Boba Fett. The action packed trailer gave audiences some of what they wanted, but some content was obviously held back. The entire trailer was “In Engine Footage”, meaning that what was showed wasn’t actual gameplay, but it’s graphics were of galactic proportions.

Because game developer DICE didn’t release any gameplay, fans are speculating that they are not ready to show any gameplay. A leader in video game news, IGN, reported on 7 minutes of gameplay that they saw exclusively at Star Wars Convention. They told audiences that the game was “awesomely action-packed”.

Entertainment Arts (EA), another game developer for Star Wars Battlefront released information regarding the gameplay saying the game will be able to be played in both first and third person. They continued saying that characters including Jedi and Sith, Bounty Hunters, and Stormtroopers will all be playable characters.

More information will be available in the following months leading up to the release in November. Pre-Orders for PS4 are available on the Battlefront website, and at most major media retailers with the Xbox One pre-orders following up a few days later. The Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition both come with free DLC (Downloadable Content) that is exclusive to fans pre-ordering the game.

If you pre-order any game this year, Star Wars: Battlefront will satisfy the your inner Star Wars’ wildest fantasies. Even though it will not ship with a campaign, this game will be one for the ages.
